It is located 10 KM towards North from District headquarters Thanjavur and. 316 KM from Tamil Nadu State capital Chennai. Ayampettai (3 KM) , Kavalur (3 KM ) , Soolamangalam (3 KM) , Famous Guru Sthalam Thittai (3 KM ) are the nearby Villages to Vaiyachery. Towards West of Vaiyachery within 5 km we have the famous Thiruvaiyar Taluk. We can reach the village now by starting from Thanjavur, taking a right at Nadar in Thanjavur – Kumbakonam Highway, cross Vettar Bridge and Papanasam Railway Crosssing. National Highway from Vikarawandi to Thanjavur is under construction and it passes via Viaiyachery village. Once it is completed, we can reach faster to this place directly and need not travel  via Thanjavur.

Vaiyachery is a beautiful village full of greenery, fertile land and it surrounded by paddy fields and coconut grooves. Agriculture is the main profession of people residing at Vaiyachery.

Vaiyachery is also the birthplace of the Legendary Carnatic musicians like “Shri Maha Vaidyanatha Sivan” Shri Ramaswamy Sivan and Shri Anai Ayya Brothers who lived during the 18th century, when the then Serfoji Maharaja of Tanjore was ruling this district. They have created many music compositions on the presiding deities of the village. Ramaswami Sivan presented his Periya Purana Keerthanai for the first time in the Sivan Temple, in front of an erudite music vidhwans.
