179th Maha Vaidyanatha Sivan Jayanthi is a continuation of Kandapurana Surukka Keerthnams written by Brahmasri Ramaswami Sivan.Sivan of “Sivan Brothers”. In this event, selected verses of Kachiappa Sivachariyaar’s Kandapuranam were chosen as a couplet with the appropriate Kandapurana Surukka Keerthani and they were presented in Virutham followed by Keerthanai format. 10 such Surukka Keerthanams were presented along with a few compositions of Sivan Brothers including the Thillana. It is our endeavour to continue this journey and provide a musical version of all Kandapurana Surukka Keerthananams in future events.
